What is the Dee Catchment Management Plan?
The River Dee catchment is the area of land that is drained by the River Dee and its tributary burns.
All of the running waters in this area are connected. This means that a poor quality burn, or inappropriate land management in one part of the catchment can reduce the environmental condition of the whole area.
The Dee catchment management plan:
- Records the current state of the Dee catchment, including water quality, the type and extent of habitats and species in the catchment and important land management activities.
- Lists some of the work already taking place that is helping to ensure that the quality of the waters and the land around them remains high.
- Identifies key issues and puts forward potential solutions.
