Catchment

Explore the Catchment

The Dee catchment is the area of land (including the hills and mountains, woodlands, and buildings) that water drains from, before flowing into burns and lochs, and eventually into the River Dee itself.

In a 126km journey from its source in the Cairngorms to the North Sea at Aberdeen, the Dee flows through stunning changing scenery - from arctic mountain landscapes, through moorland, farmland, forests, towns and villages and Aberdeen City, entering the North Sea at the busy international port of Aberdeen harbour.
